1. Amazon Gift Certificates

Amazon has… almost everything these days, even groceries. Amazon gift certificates are delivered immediately by email to the recipient (they can also be delivered on paper but you’ve pretty much run out of time for that at this point).

2. iTunes Store Gift Certificates

With iTunes Store Gift Certificates you can let friends buy the music, tv shows, movies and games that they want from the iTunes Store. You can email the gift certificate or print it on your own printer.

3. iTunes Music, TV Shows and Movies

If there’s a piece of music, a TV show or a movie you’d like to give as a gift, you can do that very simply with the iTunes Store. Just locate the thing you want to give and look for the link that says “Gift this music”. You can give individual songs or TV show episodes, or entire albums of music.

Your gift recipient doesn’t need an iPod in order to watch a TV show or movie that’s purchased at the iTunes Store… they can watch it within iTunes on their Macintosh or Windows computer, or they can hook up their computer to a television and watch it on that.

4. Send Their Name to Mars!

Here’s the bonus, fourth thing you can do at the last minute: Send your friend’s name to Mars!

Visit the Planetary Society and you can provide names to be listed on a mini-DVD they are sending to Mars. They’ll provide a certificate you can download which will show the name you’ve given them; you can present the certificate to your giftee in lieu of an actual trip to Mars.
