Apple’s Black Friday Sale

Apple Store

Apple has dropped the prices on some Macintoshes, iPods and accessories today only, Friday November 24th. You can get a brand new MacBook or iMac for $101 off, an iPod nano for $21 off or a regular iPod for $31 off. They also have deals on car chargers, earphones, speakers, Office 2004 Standard Edition, .Mac, Parallels, the Airport Express base station and more.

Shipping should be free on most orders. If you’re buying a computer, remember that you can also get a $100 rebate on qualifying printers that are ordered at the same time. The printer has to appear on the same invoice and you’ll need to clip the UPC codes from the boxes and mail in a rebate form. Apple also offers recycling - if you had a dead old computer lying around that you want to get rid of responsibly, you can select to have Apple do recycling for you. There’s a box to tick for this on the order checkout page. I’ve done this in the past… Apple will email you two Fedex labels; you can pack up your old computer or monitor in your own boxes and use the labels to ship them to a recycling center, for free.

Their Airport Express at $88 is a particularly good deal. If you’ve been thinking about picking one up, you probably won’t find a better price than that anytime soon. I have an extra Airport Express that I use for travel so that I can have wireless in my hotel room, and we have several scattered around the house to provide both good wireless coverage and also allow us to play music in different rooms (you can pipe music from iTunes to the Airport Express).

Happy shopping!
