XtemeMac AirPlay iPod FM Transmitter
The AirPlay is an FM Transmitter for iPods which have a remote control jack - that would be most iPods up to but not including the current generation of iPods with video and the iPod nano’s or the iPod shuffle (but does include the iPod photo, U2 iPod, iPod mini and most other iPods).
The transmitter is strong; I often found that when I turned off the iPod I was surprised to find a station playing behind what I was listening to. The sound quality was surprisingly good with one exception - there was usually a faint high pitched tone that was annoying. I’m not sure if it was an artifact of my car radio, my iPod or my AirPlay unit (or all AirPlay units) but it was annoying. However, the price on the transmitter was good and if you were able to get one which didn’t have that whine, you’d probably be very happy with it. It’s easy to control, and it has a display so that you can see what it’s currently tuned too. It draws power from the iPod, so requires no additional batteries.
